| The Role of Corporate TrainingTraining is the most important factor in ensuring a company's success, but training goes far beyond the typical training activities of manufacturing staff. For example, with Home Depot or Lowe's associates, the most successful vendors train big box associates about their products and about product application. Associates rely heavily on this training when they sell product to consumers and typically recommend products of the vendor who performs the most thorough training. The goal of Corporate Training within the Fictionville is multi-faceted. Training will not only perform the perfunctory one-on-one training, it also will perform liaison activities with the local community. Mohawk Corporate Training will work with Ellen Essentials, Superintendent of Fiction County Schools, and Bard Appleaday, President, Fiction State College to coordinate training efforts. By actively participating in school organization, curriculum development, and vocational training, Mohawk can help shape the educational purpose of Fictionville community schools. Schools produce a product, just as Mohawk produces product. Fictionville schools are eager to produce a product that is relevant to community needs, which also enables students (product) to succeed and prosper. If Fictionville Students succeed and prosper, the Fictionville community prospers. By coincidence Mohawk will benefit by receiving a quality labor product which increases Corporate profit. Corporate Training should find local schools eager to accept constructive input in helping shape their Educational purpose. Training also can be used as a recruiting tool. A key component of the Mohawk message should be the inclusion of Mohawk Corporate philosophy of encouraging employees to seek additional education. In most cases, Mohawk will compensate employees who pursue higher education opportunities. With the cost of Education today, tuition assistance can provide a significant bonus to a highly competitive salary. The Goal of the Corporate Training staff is to create an honorary distinction in being hired to work for Mohawk. Corporate Training should utilize local school classroom facilities (training workshops) to allow schools to provide input and benefit from the new Mohawk facility. Classroom teachers should be trained first and should be instrumental in shaping training. Primary and Secondary School teachers who are actively involved in the process will communicate regularly to the 30-100 plus students that they manage every day. These are not 30-100 students; ultimately as these students communicate with parents and this communication becomes 30-100 families, which is the goal of the Plan. Properly communicated, even Classroom training of prospective employees can become a Public Relations vehicle. Through the years, CRI has done an exceptional job of communicating it's value and accomplishments for the industry. Every training class and every committee meeting is publicly communicated to make the industry aware that they are on the job. Corporate training can boost the impact of the communication plan by publicly communicating the the location and content of each training class. In using County School facilities, the School System will enhance communication by notifying the community that "the school system is supporting in the preparation for Mohawk by offering a training course at Fictionville high school last Thursday." Employing teachers to teach evening courses at the high school in completing applications, job interview skills, and how to find jobs is an excellent tool for Mohawk which accomplished a number of training, public relations, Mohawk awareness, and community support functions. Once Corporate Training becomes integrated into the Communication Plan, the pursuit of employment positions within Mohawk by Fictionville citizens will reach a fever-pitch. |
