Targeted Message of the Plan

This communication plan has been designed to publicize the construction of a new carpet tile manufacturing facility in Fictionville.  The plan leverages community support for the new facility by involving the community in preparation activities.  The plan will enable community leaders to assist prospective Mohawk employees to prepare for employment by Mohawk and also should assist area businesses by estimating demand for various community services (restaurant, retail, housing).

  • The targeted message should communicate the expected windfall and positive impact that the new facility will have on the community. 
  • The message should not only communicate direct benefit for those employed directly by Mohawk, but also should help the community understand associated indirect employment created in support of those employed by Mohawk.
  • The message should convey that Mohawk is hiring 700 families rather than 700 employees and should direct attention to how those families and the community will continue to grow with us as we become a primary employer in the community.

In  specifically defining the suggested profile for prospective employees, the community can assist by  coordinating training efforts, helping communicate specific employment needs, and acquiring access to facilities to prepare the community for employment.
