The Fictionville Communications plan will use a variety of resources to convey the targeted message created by the Advisory Committee and the Mohawk Steering Committee.

Web Presence

The Fictionville Web Presence is critical – Mohawkfictionville.com will be used to create a dedicated Fictionville-Mohawk website.  This website will be used as a primary communication asset to publicize the ever evolving message as defined by the Steering and Advisory Committee.

The Fictionville-Mohawk website must be configured to become a must-see, all-encompassing communication center for the Fictionville manufacturing facility.

A critical component of this online portal will be a secure server which Fictionville Residents can use to complete online applications and create user accounts accessible by Mohawk HR.

The inclusion of an employment related online blog is mandatory.  However, site visitors will determine the subjects included on the blog.  Discussion boards stimulate discussion among Advisory Committee members and help assess our progress in meeting our objectives.

This web portal also can be used as a voluntary source of developing communication contacts.  This contact list will utilize both email and text messaging to continually update list subscribers of available positions, residual public relations messages, training announcements and other communications as determined necessary by the Advisory and Steering Committee.

Press Relations

Fictionville has a variety of media outlets that can be used to communicate our carefully choreographed message as defined by our Steering and Advisory Committees.  Each outlet will be provided with a complete media kit which describes detailed information about Mohawk and it's proud history.  Mohawk Marketing and Public Relations staff will work to produce regular content for journalists.  This work group must work together to produce a weekly targeted message.

Electronic Communications

Communications staff will develop a number of contact types and segment these contacts into message groups.  Rather than using Electronic Communications as a mass communication method, each contact group should have topics of interest to them.  direct potential employees may desire information on hiring patterns and benefits, training resources and desired qualifications etc.  Indirect employees may require information on the kinds of collateral demand the new manufacturing facility will stimulate.  The Community Advisory committee will be helpful in targeting these groups and the targeted message that should be conveyed to these groups.

Ezines

To complement email and text messaging, the Fictionville-Mohawk website will produce an Ezine edition.  This online Mohawk Magazine will feature regular articles by Manufacturing, HR, Marketing, Product Development, Sales and all Mohawk departments that typically contribute to Mohawks routine success and excellence.  The Ezine will focus on community education relating to Mohawk, the carpet tile market and the benefits of these products that will be manufactured in Fictionville, job acquisition skills, and a factory construction update with hiring target dates.  Each weekly update will distribute communication based on the preferences input by the recipient.
